The horn would sorta get in the way. It'd leave a little gap..." Syke frowns and nods. Eyespy arrives on the people-mover from the Main Commissary. Ramhorn glares at Syke and Pak-Gor. "Bad 'nuff yer coopin' me up in here, yer gonna make me wear some stupid party hat, too!?" Longsight nods, then brightens up a bit when he see's Rodimus,, "Hey roddy! I got this idea thingy!" Eyespy flies up and perches on Ramhorn. Ramhorn nods back at Eyespy. Longsight walks over to Rodimus, "How are things on the western front?" Strafe emerges from the underground passage. Strafe nods.. Firestar leans against the wall, still waiting, "Sir?" Rodimus looks up wearily. "Confusing. You had an idea?" Syke waves to Strafe. "hihi!" Strafe smiles and raises his hand in greeting to Syke. Firestone sighs. Longsight nods, "Yea, I was wondering what the difference between the robots with animal modes, and the robots without were...see? If we could find this difference, maybe we could discover why the virus picks on them..." Longsight says, "if I could find the difference, the rewards would be......well more worth than YOU can imagine!"" Ramhorn grumbles. "You do that." Syke says, "If I thought it'd work I'd just say to rebuild me as a car, but I'm not sure it would." Rodimus rubs his forehead. "It seems to center on the instinctual programming. Roots there and hyperactivates survival instincts to the point of paranoia.. at least, that's the going theory." Syke says, "Me trying to drive would almost be funny." Ramhorn turns to Syke. "Hope ya have a license." Syke giggles at Ram. "Yeah, stay off the sidewalks." Strafe looks confused at what's going on, just like old times. Ramhorn gives Rodimus the 'you omnipotent future God-like type person you' look. Firestone says, "My nose hurts." Longsight says, "so primitives only have this programming heh? Could you introduce a new virus that resets the original programing?" Scur-Vee enters Iacon through the gates. Ramhorn looks at Firestone. "Yer point?" Scur-Vee walks in, trying to draw attention to himself. You say, "Once we figure out what exactly makes the original virus tick, yes. Hopefully." Eyespy says, "and how do you intend to do that?" Longsight waves at Scur-Vee, "Cool dud's man!" Then he turns back to Rodimus. "hmmmmm...." Scur-Vee vaguely recognizes Pak-Gor, and walks over to him. You say, "Right now, we're trying to track it down in Sky Lynx's systems. If that doesn't work.. we'll take it to the Quints." Longsight hrrrrmmmms some more, then says, "Well, maybe we can wipe that part of their programming clean....that should get rid of them.." Eyespy says, "if you can come back from the future why not simply go back far enough to stop the initial infection?" Pak-Gor says, "I should hook him up to my neuroscanner. That should show some interesting results." Ramhorn snorts. "Quints...joy and rapture. How bout YOU take it to them five-faced freaks, Rodimus...then again, ain't like I git ta go nowhere anymore anyway." Scur-Vee says, "And now for an up to the minute report from Pak-Gor: What be going on in the last few million Vorn, Matey?" You say, "It's a miracle we hit the timeframe this close. We couldn't really effectively pinpoint the time portal.." Pak-Gor says, "Quints are cool, but they were pretty much uncool back now. As I remember they're probably still pretty mad at us Junkys." Pak-Gor smirks. "Try 8 Million. I'm here from the future Scurv. Syke hmmphs. "Quints, huh? I haven't had seafood in quite a while..." Ramhorn grunts. "If I were a Junk, I'd say this was some really bad sci- fi series from the late twentieth cent." Ramhorn says, "Ya know, the ones that ain't destined ta make it past episode 3."" Longsight nods at Rodimus and Hmmmmms, "Truly you have a dizzying intellect.." Rodimus blinks. "I, err...." Longsight nods, then looks at Rodimus, "WEll, maybe I can go talk to scrapper, see what he thinks...ya think?" You say, "Input from any quarter is valuable. Scrapper wouldn't be a bad consultant." Eyespy says, "Meanwhile we must remain cooped up here for fear of contamination" indicating the animal alts in the room. Longsight nods, "Yea, cool... is it ok if I go talk to Sky Lynx now? Ramhorn tenses up, grumbling loudly. "Don't go remindin' me, Eyespy." Firestar looks down, and finally gets agitated, "Commander?" Longsight says, "I can link to his mind and stuff....."" Syke looks to Eyespy. "Unless you have a helmet like I do." You say, "Unfortunately, yes.. we can't afford to lose anyone else-- yes, sorry, Firestar." Firestar shakes her head, "Nevermind. I know you are busy.." Firestar starts north, quiet and head low. Longsight says, "And Pakky here can run that scanner doo hiky thing while I'm talking to him, see what's going on in that brain of his....That sound cool Paky?"" Firestar is whisked away north on a people-mover into the Main Commissary. Rodimus sighs and breaks after Firestar. "Excuse me.." Syke looks to Pak. "Lot more around to need your toy than I thought." You are whisked away on a large people-mover, through a tube, into the Main Commissary. You say, "Firestar, I'm sorry, I can't help it when everyone jumps on me. You know that." Moonracer looks around at the newcomers, raising one eyebrow ridge, she silently watches the duo. Firestar turns and looks at Rodimus, an apologetic look in her optics, "I know, Rodimus. It's just that you *didn't* see what I saw in Cyclonus last night..." Rodimus says gravely, "Was he serious about it?" Krystal Bryant tilts her head and looks up at Firestar inquisitively. Firestar lowers her head, "He says he can make the cons better. An honor guard, make them in his image..." Rodimus frowns. "But there are no more Decepticons." Moonracer frowns slightly, listening with an intent gaze on Firestar. Firestar tilts her head up to look at Rodimus. "I know that. You know that. Cyclonus..." She stops for a moment, face creased in painful recollection, "He feels he failed..." You say, "But there's nothing TO fail! We kept people alive as best we could by *erasing* the faction lines!" Firestar steps back, reeling for a moment, unable to set herself, she just goes quiet. Rodimus returns to his normal tone, concluding softly, "I wouldn't call that a failure." Moonracer nibbles her lower lip, then looks down at Krystal. @pemit *krys=\[hurt, uncertain feelings of betrayal and refusal to believe those feelings] Firestar says, "you.. saw what Galvatron sent him. I think once he gets away from Galvatron.." Firestar says, "I hope you are correct, Rodimus." Rodimus lowers his tone further. He mutters to Firestar, "But... you're... we... remove the..." Firestar senses "Rodimus lowers his tone further. "But if you're not certain, we can take out the stockpile and remove the decision.."" Krystal Bryant glances up at Moonracer quickly, arching her eyebrows in an "oh boy" gesture before looking back to the other two. Firestar looks at Rodimus again. "Also.. he.. has yet to return to Iacon for several cycles. Rod... he looks like death warmed over. Moonracer nods in silent agreement with Krystal, then turns back to the conversation. Firestar sighs, "We can't have an old war start anew with the end of ours.. Cybertron.. all of us could not handle it. Rodimus repeats, "I'll talk to him. I can't blame the poor guy for being upset." Firestar stops, suddenly feeling guilty, "Sorry." You say, "I can't believe Cyclonus of all people would want to start up another war." Firestar says, "I don't think he wants to.. he just wants to protect Cybertron.." Rodimus puts a hand on Firestar's shoulder and squeezes gently. "I trust him to make the right decision. He may be upset now, but he'll figure out that starting up the old conflict won't help any." Firestar's face looks unreadable for a moment, "I hope so. Primus help us all if you are wrong." Rodimus smiles a bit. "I'm never wrong, remember?" ================================== Autobot ============================= Message: 3/17 Posted Author Sky Lynx Thu Apr 24 Whiz ------------------------------------------------------------------------ I have been requested to tender a report regarding Sky Lynx's condition. My readings have not been entirely conclusive. However, I can report that his neural activity is substantially different in his resting state, as opposed to his conscious state. I plan to investigate the cause of this anomaly at the earliest opportunity. I hypothesize that... hm. How to put this in layman's terms? I believe that his animal instincts, which are normally held in check by the action of his neurodendric regulator filaments, have been allowed to run out of control. In psychological terms, this is much like his Id overrunning his Superego. There has been a breakdown in his capacity to modulate his instincts and his more primitive desires. From the limited data I have accumulated, this is an exponential process... his ability to balance his desires with what is best for others is decreasing at a rapid pace. Thus, I believe that it is necessary to take intervening measures as soon as possible. I will report regarding those measures when it is practical to do so. ====================================================================== Firestar lowers her head again, "I'm getting too old for this scrap, you know that?" She hehs dryly, "I've followed you without question this long, sir. Longer than Optimus.. longer than Elita." Rodimus smiles and punches Firestar lightly on the upper arm. "So trust me a little longer. Cyclonus needs your support more than any of the rest of us." Firestar forces a chuckle. "I'm not old enough to pummel your aft though, sir." Moonracer's brow raises again, just watching. Krystal Bryant feels a gentle smile tug at the edges of her mouth as she observes the banter. Firestar sighs. "I will talk to him as soon as possible, Rodimus. Err, Commander." She chuckles. "I better watch those slips, people may start to think that I am loosing my command attitude." Rodimus looks mildly amused. "You never had to call me Commander, Firestar, you know that." Moonracer smiles faintly. Firestar smirks, "Bad habit I picked up from Cyclonus. He rubbed off on me." You say, "But yes, I'd still kick yo-- BOTH of your afts with one hand tied behind my back. Just so we're clear on that." Firestar quirks an optic in mild amusement, and intones, "Shall we test that theory, Commander?" Moonracer chuckles softly, shaking her head. Firestar makes a face, "I still do not see how he does that." Firestar says, "I think he does it just to get on my nerves.. or when addressing Motormaster..." She makes a disgusted face, "That moron is at it again." You say, "How who does what..?" Firestar shakes her head with a chuckle, "Nothing Rodimus." Rodimus cocks a finger at Firestar. "Hah, see, you do still know my name." Firestar says, "Oh, it is Rodimus, isn't it? What was it that Whiz used to call you...?" You say, "I don't recall Whiz calling me anything other than my name..." Firestar looks thoughtful for a long moment, trying to recall. Firestar says, "Ah, it's on the tip of my vocalizer..." Krystal Bryant swallows, and glances quickly up at Firestar, giving her a wary glance and a quick shake of her head. Firestar sighs. "I can not recall, Commander." Rodimus slides a surprised look at Krystal, arching on optic in silent query. Whiz emerges from Whiz's Lab. Firestar taps the side of her helm, "Memory gets dim at my age, I suppose." Whiz emerges from her lab and blinks at the unexpected crowd. Rodimus chuckles. "See, that's the advantage of never getting old. I told you I never would." [from Krystal] just a general sense of protection, to keep from bringing up something that might cause pain to have to remember. Firestar switches back to the subject at hand, "Thank you for agreeing to talk to Cyc though. This whole experience has been hard on him.": Moonracer smiles faintly, and looks up, her gaze freezing a bit on Whiz. You say, "And all I have to do is look at you and be reassured... oh, yeah. How could I not..." he catches Moonracer's look and glances across the room, smiling a bit. "Oh, hi, Whiz. Anything new yet?" Firestar slugs Rodimus in the arm as she heads out, "I will try to locate him, then, Commander." Whiz cocks her head slightly. "Well, there could be something." Firestar stops short, "What do you have, Whiz?" Krystal Bryant clears her throat, smiling slightly. "I ah....I think I'll go take a look at Sky Lynx..." Firestar looks down, for the first time seeing Krystal and ahems, "Err, hi." Whiz's wrist console begins to blink and beep. Whiz frowns. "Someone has deactivated the forcefield around Sky Lynx." Krystal Bryant smiles up at Firestar, feeling a pang of sad nostalgia. Firestar blinks, "Aww smegging hell." Rodimus blinks. "What?" Krystal Bryant blinks. "Something didn't feel right..." Krystal Bryant steps on the people-mover, and heads south into Iacon Base. Firestar starts to run forward, "On the point, Commander!" Firestar steps on the people-mover, and heads south into Iacon Base. Whiz says, "I suggest investigating with all due haste." You say, "Err.. yeah." Whiz steps on the people-mover, and heads south into Iacon Base. You step on the people-mover, and head south through the tube into the Base. You head southeast, into the Repair Bay. Iacon MedCenter Waiting Room Contents: Firestar, Krystal Bryant, Whiz, Moonracer Obvious exits: Repair Room leads to Iacon MedCenter Repair Room. Northwest leads to Central Hallway - New Iacon Base. Firestar drops her visor, weapons popping on line, "Syke!" Firestar says, "Count four non-Primmies, and Sky Lynx and Syke, Commander."" Krystal Bryant swallows, her breath catching in her throat. "Dear God. Not a good combination." Whiz says, "I'd suggest getting that forcefield up ASAP. I'll head for the console, you distract 'em." Moonracer says, "Oh dear." she frowns. "A distraction? Just tell me which way-" Rodimus nods tightly. "Firestar, left. I'll break right." Sidearm says, "What's going on? Sky Lynx get loose?" Whiz nods curtly at Sidearm. "Forcefield is down." Rodimus looks back at Sidearm shortly. "Someone took down the forcefield." Firestar snaps out her plasma launcher with ease, "Understood, Whiz, moving in." Firestar heads into the Repair Room. Lanz-lot arrives from the Central Hallway. Lanz-lot clanks in, and stops. "Hullo. Come to borrow a cup of sugar." Sidearm says, "I have a stun setting that might help." Rodimus darts into the repair bay practically on Firestar's neck. You head into the Repair Room. Iacon MedCenter Repair Room Contents: Firestar, Syke, Scur-Vee, Firestone, Pak-Gor, Longsight, Double-Take, Sky Lynx Obvious exits: Waiting Room leads to Iacon MedCenter Waiting Room. Longsight nods, "So Sky Lynx, tell me Uh oh...." Longsight quickly grabs for the wire's in Sky Lynx's head and tries to pull the right one out! Whiz comes in from the Waiting Room. Sidearm comes in from the Waiting Room. Sky Lynx pushes himself up heavily, "The sad thing about sedation is ... you tend to get used to it after a while .. " Pak-Gor hmms and continues probing the neural functions... Moonracer comes in from the Waiting Room. Forcefields go up all over the room... though they probably aren't strong enough to hold Sky Lynx in. Firestar picks up speed, picking up her cannon and leveling it at Sky Lynx, "He's conscious!" Syke pulls her fire sword and holds it ready. "Hurry on getting the forcefields up, get this dude put back down!" Rodimus leaps sideways out of the doorway, fists stiffarmed before him. "what's going on in here?" Pak-Gor says, "Sleeeepwaaalkiiin..." Whiz scans the room rapidly. Double-Take says, "I'm trying! I'm already over-straining the generators!" Moonracer follows the others, cautiously. Double-Take says, "150 percent'll have to do..." Longsight shouts out, "I thought he was supposed to be deactivated! IT's not my fault!" Whiz says, "Who released the contaiment field?" Sky Lynx whacks a claw against the forefield, causing a bright blue spark. Double-Take says, "Longsight!" Pak-Gor quotes, "I thought shutting down the containment field was BAD." Whiz sprints to the generator. Longsight points at Sky Lynx, "He was deactivated last time I saw him! IT's not my fault!" Baaaaad things are happening to the generator... much more stress'll make it blow. Whiz says, "Quit whining! We have to contain him while he's groggy!" Syke says, "I'd like to know that as well, any way to hook more power into the fields?" Double-Take says, "Any more and we'll vaporize the generators!" Longsight growls and makes a quick grab for Sky Lynx's open port, trying to pull the wire to shut him off.. Transmission from Nova: Assistance needed.. Double-Take says, "I'm not sure it'll hold now!" Sky Lynx says, "These forcefields cannot hold me, you fools." He whacks the forcefield again. Firestone says, "Closeza doors." Transmission from Nova: Redfire is in need of medical help. Firestone pulls the switch with the biiiiiiig X on it, making the biiiig door slam down. Syke moves for the door locks, typing in a locking code... Transmission from Nova: Old Cybertron Highway , Nova out.. Pak-Gor frowns, scanning intensely, taking advantage of the neural activity to find something- ANYTHING that might cause the disturbance, The forcefields quiver badly but hold. You transmit a message to Nova: I'm kind of BUSY at the moment... Double-Take reduces the power. Transmission from Nova: Fine. Whiz kicks the generator, as if that will help, and then sprints to the medbay cabinet. Firestar kneels down, plasma cannon thruming with power, "Lynx, do not move or we will fire." Longsight can't seem to get through the forcefield and then turns and runs towards the sedatives dispensor.... Firestone goes over to the generator and tries to keep it in one bit. Sky Lynx says, "Oh dear me, I'm so afraid .." Whiz calls over her shoulder, "Don't threaten him." Whiz riffles the cabinet and nods slightly. Firestar mutters, "Who said anything about it beuing a threat..." Syke grumbles. "Get more sedative, put em down as deep as the istoral." You say, "Don't antagonize him, Firestar.." Longsight says, "looks at the sedative dispenser and then turns the dial waaaaay up!"" Whiz says, "Hmmm, enough to put down Predaking..." Transmission from Ramhorn: (klaxons in the background) WHAT THE-!!!? Firestar says, "Yes, Commander." Moonracer looks at Longsight. Then shakes her head. "What d'you need me t'do?" Sky Lynx slams his tail clumsily against the forefield, stumbling to the ground Firestone says, "Bad kitty." Double-Take says, "Alpha field is down to 15 percent... switching main power to beta..." Longsight looks embarassed and backs up to pak gor, "You getting anything?" Rodimus slips sideways around the perimeter of the room, dropping his hands but still working his fingers nervously. Sky Lynx writhes on the floor a bit, swing a claw slowly in the air at nothing, trying to shake off the added sedation, but eventually slups down, his optics dim Pak-Gor scans intensely.. Firestar says, "Hey Sky Lynx, let's talk about this..." Firestar fumbles for any words, and sighs, "Aww, slag it." Longsight runs back over to Sky Lynx, "Lemme at 'em! LEmme at 'em! So I can turn him off again!" Double-Take whews. He turns down somew of the fields. Sky Lynx snaps at Longsight Sky Lynx Longsight staggers back from the hit and says "That blast came from the death star!" Firestar reaches out and jerks Longsight down by the arm, "You HAVE done quite enough, thank you!" Rodimus yelps, "Careful, Longsight--!" Longsight whoas and looks at his missing hand, "Now I'm gonna hafta replace that!" Double-Take recodes the fields, reducing their power to a mere 95 percent. "I'm recoding the passwords... " Scur-Vee looks at the Junkion and shouts, "Hold in there, Matey!" Firestone sighs. Longsight glares at Firestar, 'I'm not the one who reactivated him so there!" He sticks out his tongue at you! Sky Lynx keeps his head aimed at longsight, letting the piece of his arm drop from his mouth, but looking rather fierce none the less Double-Take says, "OK, how much sedative are you running through him?" Firestone says, "It's going to be a long night. Anyone want me to get his tail?" Whiz halts, still wielding a sedative over her head, then lowers it. "Well, I suppose I could have tried it the easy way." Sky Lynx says, "Touch me and die! ... erk ... all of you .... I can still rip you to shreds if I want to ..." Firestone says, "Lynx, you look like hell." Firestone says, "I mean, seriously scrapped." Pak-Gor sours a little. "That's what he reminds me of too.. Sky Lynx says, "commmere .... I'll help you look just as bad ..." Firestone says, "Suuuuuure..." Longsight just growls at his hand, then pops open his chaingusn Whiz quickly activates a scanner and watches Sky Lynx's neural readings as he goes under again. Longsight pops his huge gatling guns from under his arms.... They start to rotate menacingly.... Rodimus says tersely, "Put him all the way under, Whiz." Longsight says, "I'll give ya petro rabbits!" Longsight looks angry! Double-Take whews, as the forcefield warm-up sequence succeeds and becomes Lynx-proof. Moonracer glances at Longsight. "Put those away." Whiz looks over her shoulder from the readings. "Which one, Sky Lynx or the Junkion?" Firestar says, "Both?" You say, "The one more likely to bite your head off." Double-Take says, "Longsight, in that case." Longsight frowns and then puts the guns back in his arms... Pak-Gor hmms. "He's got awareness, but he can't move.. Longsight then folds his arms and pouts, "I still say it wasn't exactly my fault..." Whiz turns around, tests the sedative, and then says, "Lower the field enough for me to approach him." Double-Take says, "You sure that's a good idea?" Moonracer blinks a bit. Sky Lynx says, "I'llll ... show ... you ... moooovvve" Pak-Gor says, "No ya won't droopy." Double-Take says, "It takes 5 minutes to get Lynx-proof." Firestar moves forward, "Have you covered, Whiz." Whiz says, "I have to reach him to ensure that this sedative will actually put him down all the way. He is not in a position to harm me." Syke glares at Lynx. "No you won't dude, or I'll show you what the wrong end of my fire sword is like." Longsight waves his fist at Sky Lynx, "a shut up before I shove my fist down your throa....wait, I already did.. nevermind.." Whiz says, "Syke, I don't recommend you being nearby in any case." Sky Lynx says, "Yes Syke, come .. closer .." Syke says, "Pak-Gor assured me I'd be fine." Sky Lynx says, "show ... me, your sword ..." Whiz says, "Only if he is within the forcefield." Syke taps her helmet once. Sky Lynx says, "attack a fellow ... primitive ..." Longsight suddenly shakes his head, "NO no syke! Get outa here! You'll get infected!" Syke says, "I'm not a primative. I'm an Autobot." Double-Take says, "Syke, stay away from the birdy-bot. That helmet won't help you if he bites it off." Syke says, "Pak-Gor, explain to them." Sky Lynx says, "You say that now ... but they're all plotting gainst you ... you know that even if you don't want to .. admit it" Syke says, "I won't go near him. Believe me. And the helmet is on so that killing me is the only way to remove it." Pak-Gor says, "She's got a helmet. Exodus designed the thing. Successfully blocks out the suggestiveness." Longsight walks over and picks up his hand, and then starts to put it back on, turning to Scur-Vee, "Can you hold this?" Syke flicks her thumb over the ignitor. "Lynx, you can take all your ideas and stick them where the sun don't shine." Rodimus grits, "I'm more worried about her life if she gets too close.." Scur-Vee nods. "Aye, matey. Whiz sighs. "We are wasting precious time. Lower the field so I can inject his fuel lines with this compound." Double-Take says, "Fine, but it's not my fault if he gets away." Longsight says, "just hold the hand in place while I reatach it... thanks bud.."" Double-Take says, "Computer, lower forcefield... password via keyboard, and voice-print..." Blaster comes in from the Waiting Room. Sky Lynx falls unconscious The fields drop with an electronic blue static. Whiz tightens her grip on the syringe, the only weapon she has, and marches in toward Sky Lynx's still form. Longsight finishes reactaching his hand and moves it around, flexing it... he nods, "Cool...Thanks dude!" Firestar continues to level her plasma thrower at Sky, covering Whiz. Whiz grits her jaw, then approaches and opens an access hatch. Longsight gives Scur-Vee a smile of thanks, then walks over to behind Sky Lynx's head... Whiz succeeds in grasping Sky Lynx, throwing him off-balance. Longsight points at a couple of wires, "These should have never been put back if ya ask me!" Whiz manages to maneuver the access open and snaps at Longsight, "If you are not going to assist, stay back!" Rodimus says quietly, "Just put him out." Whiz says, "He was never deactivated, merely sedated, as you would have *known* if you had read any of the medical records before proceeding on your own!" Longsight shakes his head, "Well duh, that's what I'm doing here..." He mumbles to himself, "Maybe I shoulda stayed with the decepticons....." Whiz jabs the sedative needle in a bit more briskly than maybe she needs to. Longsight looks down at whiz, "Uh uh! I was there when we caught Sky Lynx! I PERSONALY deactivated him!!!! So there!" Double-Take says, "Geez, I thought someone put him completely under! Who brought him out?" Whiz waves the exhausted sedative needle in Longsights face. "If you refuse to take responsibility for the stupidity of your actions, that is just fine with me, but I don't want to hear your whining about how it wasn't your fault. I have much more urgent matters to attend to." Double-Take says, "People, get back I'm putting the fields up in 10 seconds." Whiz says, "Now get back, we have to raise the forcefield again." Moonracer leans against a back wall. Rodimus keeps a slightly wary optic on the needle. "We're safe now, then?" Whiz lowers the needle with a low growl and steps away from Sky Lynx. Longsight glares at whiz, "It wasn't my fault! I thought he was deactivated and me and Pakky were gonna scan him or something!" Longsight steps back. Scur-Vee puts a hand on LS's shoulder and walks him back. "Come on, laddie." Double-Take hits the button, and the shields go up to 100 percent and start warming up. Longsight shrugs it off, "And don't tell me about responsability you overweight glob of grease! I AM responsible for my own actions!" Moonracer eyes Longsight. You say, "Okay, people, everyone calm down. Crisis averted." Whiz fixes Longsight with a cold glare. "Infant." Rodimus shoots Whiz a warning glare. Double-Take starts re-coding the passwords. Firestar sighs. "Can we please just shoot him?" A dull thudding resounds against Iacon's front gates. Longsight sticks out his tongue at Whiz, "Ummmm, dork face!" Blaster curses a bit, "uh-oh.." Double-Take says, "Hey... do you guys hear something?" Moonracer says, "Longsight? You almost caused a catastrophy. Don't keep it up." she glances at the stony-faced Whiz. "Maybe you'd be happier on Junkion. I'll see if it can be arranged." Blaster says, "Sounds like more trouble."" Double-Take says, "We'd better check it out." Blaster nods, "Lets go then." Moonracer leans off the wall, starting to radio someone. Longsight looks at moonracer, "Why is everyone always blaiming me! is it because i'm the stupid junk! Everyone always calls me that you know!" Blaster looks around, "KNOCK IT OFF! What's done is done and there's no need to point fingers just so long as it doesn't happen again!" Moonracer shakes her head. "No, it's not because you're a Junkiion. It's because you didn't check before doing something dangerous." she shrugs. "I would never call a Junkion stupid, just because they're a Junkion." Pak-Gor says, "This was kinda my fault. Didn't look at any of the readings before I went in." Blaster sighs and turns to head out, intent on finding the source of the steady bass booms. Double-Take says, "Guys, I'm gonna go check that banging out." Blaster heads back into the Waiting Room. Double-Take heads back into the Waiting Room. Longsight folds his arms and sulks, "Why not? Everyone else does....and I did check..." Rodimus says quietly, "It doesn't matter whose "fault" it was. Situation averted. Forget about it." Pak-Gor says, "Yeah. :Leave the future in the past n' stuff." Longsight walks out the door angry, "This deal keeps getting worse all the time..." Moonracer sighs. "I'm not everyone, Longsight. And besides- " she nods to Rodimus. "Everything's ok now." Firestar says, "Want me to check that knock?" Krystal Bryant comes in from the Waiting Room. Rodimus sighs, rubbing his forehead. "Yeah, see what that is.." Longsight says, "yea, but you still accused me without finding out first.." Moonracer frowns at Longsight. "No. You said you let the field down." Firestar heads back into the Waiting Room. Syke turns, and wanders out the door as well... Longsight almost steps on the human walking in, then sorries and turns around.. Syke heads back into the Waiting Room. Sky Lynx is all sedated and passed out on the floor Longsight says, "I did turn the field off, but that's because I checked on him first! He was out!" Krystal Bryant stops short, drawing in a sharp breath as her eyes fall upon the prone form of Sky Lynx. Edward Bryant comes in from the Waiting Room. Moonracer shrugs. "I can play 'possum too. I have before- it helps you get out of tight situations." she shrugs. "Check charts- or with someone else next time." Longsight waves his hand, "But all of you go blowing your tops like mary poppins, and are quick to blame people instead of understanding them first!" Krystal Bryant blinks slowly, tentatively moving closer to Sky Lynx as she gazes intently at him. Longsight says, "and know one EVER thanks you for what you DO do right....Except Matt, he always did..." Longsight turns around and stalks out. Longsight heads back into the Waiting Room. Scur-Vee starts towards the door. "I be leaving now. Somebody call me when ye scurvy lubbers actually work yer differences out. Rodimus sighs. Scur-Vee heads back into the Waiting Room. Moonracer transmits a message via radio. Moonracer receives a radio transmission. Moonracer transmits a message via radio. Irontread comes in from the Waiting Room. Firestone says, "Hmmp." @pemit *krys=\[Inquiry?] Firestone says, "Atsa life." Moonracer transmits a message via radio. Edward Bryant leans up against the wall, near enough to Krystal, but letting her handle what she needs to do, quietly observing. Moonracer transmits a message via radio to Longsight. Whiz smooths her ruffled exterior. Moonracer sighs, and leans her forehead against the wall for a moment- then slips for the door. Krystal Bryant stops short of the inert body,, gripping her cloak about her. Her brow furrows slightly as she searches. Moonracer receives a radio transmission. Monitor grows ears and can now hear. Whiz says, "Right. Now that little bit of unpleasantness has left.. er, is over... we can investigate the situation." Rodimus undertones, "Take it easy, Whiz." Moonracer transmits a message via radio. Moonracer blinks, then hurries. Moonracer heads back into the Waiting Room. Whiz mutters, "We're going to be stuck here forever if another slip like that happens. Good thing I put a monitor on the forcefield generator." Irontread says, "May I ask what happened?" You say, "Just a little mishap with the forcefield generator." Irontread says, "oh. No serious problems?" Whiz grouches, "They will be averted." Whiz moves over to her console and resumes her study of the readings. Rodimus looks distractedly at Whiz and nods. "None at the moment." Irontread says, "Is there any need for assistance?" Rodimus shakes his head quietly. "All's quiet now." Firestone says, "Whiz?" Whiz studies the record of Sky Lynx's neural readings. "This is intriguing." Firestone says, "I had an idea." Firestone waits. Pak-Gor says, "What'd you get?" Edward Bryant lets out a slight groan as Firestone has another one of her 'ideas'. Pak-Gor peeks over Whiz's shoulder. Krystal Bryant looks over the floor at Whiz, hoping that her readings will correlate and make some sense of the jumble she is getting. Whiz motions Pak-Gor over to look at them. "Here. Tehre is a definite transition that you wouldn't ordinarily expect just from a slip into a dreaming state." Firestone peers over Whiz and Pakky, not understanding a thing. Pak-Gor hmmmms... "REM: It's not just music anymore." Whiz examines them further, tilting her head with interest, then calls up an old scan from before the TFs were changed into humans. Pak-Gor grins. Rodimus doesn't even pretend to understand the schematics and focuses his attention silently on Krystal, alternating his gaze between her and Sky Lynx. Firestar IC: Report. *first gunfire reports are heard* He's made his way into the hallway. Whiz points. "Look at this correlation. It's much closer than one would expect." Krystal Bryant hmms. "Let's see, Whiz..." Whiz says, "As if, in his unconscious state, his primal instincts are not in control." Edward Bryant steps up, not knowing what to do. Transmission from Ramhorn: Rodimus, we got Sludge atta gates!! Krystal Bryant clambours across the floor, straining to catch a look. Rodimus says, "IC: I'm sealing off the med bay, can't risk him getting to Sky Lynx..." Firestone says, "Keen!" Whiz moves aside to allow Krystal to approach. Firestar IC: Do it! If he presses forward we will engage. Firestone offers Krystal a hand up. Firestone says, "Sit here, Krystal." Pak-Gor nods... "That's the KI feeling... Sooo how could we use this to our advantage... Edward Bryant says, "Rodimus, could you please assist Krystal?" Krystal Bryant hops into Firestone's hand, nodding obligingly. Rodimus tilts his head worriedly at his internal radio, then moves quickly for the doorway and engages the blast doors. "They're trying to pound down the front gates..." Irontread says, "Who are?" Irontread heads back into the Waiting Room. Firestone positions Krystal at the display. Firestone says, "Need me to block, sir?" You say, "I think this room is secure, but they probably could use a hand out there.." Transmission from Firestar: Lock it down quick, we will hold as long as we can, Commander. Whiz says, "It is more in line with your... talents." Firestone says, "I hit things real good!" Rodimus shifts uneasily, torn between staying to help Sky Lynx and wanting to go out and help drive off the invasion. Firestone says that brightly. Firestone says, "Whiz, would you take Krystal?" Whiz says sarcastically, "Go forth, young warrior, and hit things real good. Make your commander proud." Whiz gently takes responsibility for Krystal. Edward Bryant visibly relaxes as Krystal is passed off to Whiz. Krystal Bryant frowns at the readout, calling up old recollections of book studies from college. She chews on her lip as her brow furrows in consternation. "Yeah...on what you just said, Pakky....dreaming is basically...making the subconscious, conscious....in which case, Sky Lynx's true self-concept has been shoved unconscious. ...but now that he's been put under, that unconscious self-concept is a faint tingling of what I'm picking up on now...." Rodimus smiles a bit. "And in Standard that means..?" Pak-Gor grins. "You just said a mouthful Krys. Pak-Gor says, "Yeah I get it though.." Edward Bryant says, "English?" Whiz says, "I have her, you are welcome to go. But hurrry, we have to lock this place down." Firestone says, "Doors, time lock, three second unlock, open one second, relock." Firestone says, "In... go." Firestone lowers into herself, folding into a large black '59 hovercaddy. HoverCadillac blasts out. HoverCadillac heads back into the Waiting Room. Firestar IC: He is not buying the bluff... Whiz says, "The Iacon MedCenter is now sealed by blast doors. We cannot risk losing Sky Lynx at this juncture." Blaster says, "Understood...anyone handy kindly get over to Iacon Main Hall......there's a big dinosaur causing trouble.." Pak-Gor quotes, "I hear the secrets that you keep when you're talkin' in yer sleep." Krystal Bryant ahems, and swallows self-consciously. "Now that Sky Lynx is unconscious, his true self is emerging from it's locked room inside his head. The unconscious is becoming conscious again, or trying to." Edward Bryant looks after Stone as she leaves. "I still think she tried to break my ribs on purpose." You say, "So when he's asleep, he's the normal Sky Lynx?" Edward Bryant catches Krystal's words and chews on them for a long moment. Whiz says, "That was my hypothesis as well." Whiz looks at Sky Lynx. "If only there were a way to communicate with him in this state." Whiz says, "He might be able to give us some insight into his condition." Krystal Bryant nods. "Trying is the catchprase. There's really nothing he can do, especially in such a weakened subconscious state. He's been locked down for so long." Pak-Gor says, "Dreeeeeeam Weaver, I believe you can get me through the niight!" Whiz receives a radio transmission. Whiz transmits a message via radio. Rodimus clears his throat. "*Is* there any way to get through to him in this state?" Transmission from Ramhorn: I ain't gonna say nothin'.....I aint gonna say nothin'...... (Ramhorn fights to keep control) Whiz receives a radio transmission. Whiz shrugs. "If we attempt to communicate, we wake him, and then the primitive side takes over." Whiz transmits a message via radio to Trailbreaker. Krystal Bryant bites her lip, slowly averting her gaze over to Sky Lynx. Her eyes close momentarily. Rodimus recalls something. "What about a direct data transfer?" Whiz looks startled. "That could possibly transmit his affliction to us, despite our immunity to normal means of transmission." You say, "But we don't have the same instinct programming. It wouldn't affect us, would it?" Whiz hmms speculatively. "Possibly." Whiz says, "I suppose I could rig something up, but it would likely be quite dangerous. Especially if he were to wake and the primitive side of his personality became dominant." Krystal Bryant opens her eyes, and swallows. "Rodimus." she says quietly, her eyes averting to fall on him in a knowing glance. Rodimus shoots a look at Krystal quizzically. "What?" [From Krystal] You know what. I can try. Trailbreaker says, "Strafe and I are trying something to get Sludge to exit stage left, if you know what I mean. Go along with it as if you just received a broadcast that Sky Lynx got free. I call it, Subterfuge of the Dinobots." Rodimus blinks startledly, still watching Krystal. "But that's too dangerous." Whiz looks curiously at Krystal. Edward Bryant immediatley steps forward, "I agree with Rodimus. But it is also futile to argue with her once she gets her mind set, Rodimus... I learned that lesson a while back." Krystal Bryant nods resignedly. "Still, no moreso than what you are suggesting...and it would take less time. It's..." she glances aside for a brief moment to Edward. "It's been done before..." Edward Bryant looks back at Krystal, not quite understanding. Rodimus looks between Edward and Krystal cautiously. "It has..?" Whiz just watches, not quite understanding. Rodimus frowns. "If it's too dangerous for the rest of us to try, I'm not about to let you go in there alone.." Whiz says thoughtfully, "We could... possibly... combine our efforts somehow. If we are determined upon this risky course of action." Rodimus rubs the back of his head. "If that's what it takes, but..." Whiz meanders over to a supply cabinet and begins to see if she could construct some kind of direct linkup. Krystal Bryant swallows, her brow drawing as she realizes what she's stepped into. She tries to ward it off with a simple, "Yes...I've...it's been done before...." she hesitates, listening to them, feeling their curious and confused gazes. "Arachnis, of New Vilnacron, who could not separate a past traumatic experience from his conscious mind as it tore him apart and changed him...and...Sky Lynx...and..." her shoulders drop in a gesture of defeat as she looks back up at Rodimus. "Galvatron..." Whiz says dryly, "At least we will have an experienced guide." Sidearm says, "Galvatron?" Sidearm wonders what she walked into. Rodimus frowns a bit but nods tightly. "I.. think I remember..." Krystal Bryant bows her head a moment, nodding. Edward Bryant's jaw locks tightly as he gazes at Krystal, for a moment not understanding, then it slowly dawns on him, he swallows slightly, then locks it into the back of his head. He makes a mental note to be sure to ask, "I would also assume Cyclonus, from the time you was in Vilnacron." [From Krystal] Yes, you do...he didn't come back from the dead by himself. Krystal Bryant's jaw drops slightly as she tries to defend herself, her eyes tearing over to Edward in dismay. She quickly shuts her mouth and hops down, swallowing hard and moving over to stand at Sky's head. Rodimus looks uncomfortably at Edward. "It's.. it's all right, she's all right.." he sighs. "She knows what she's doing." Whiz says, "Will we have to make preparations to join you, Krystal?" Edward Bryant doesn't say a word, quiet worry feeling it's way up his throat, then just steps back. "Yeah, sure, she's just fine. Probably why she never told me." Edward Bryant looks back at Krystal, not knowing what to say, taking off his glasses, and lets out a ragged breath. Rodimus kneels briefly beside Krystal and puts a hand gently on her back. He considers silently for several moments, then sighs. "I'll help. Whiz, I don't know if you can set up a multiple interface..?" [From Krystal] A very hollow, but strangely stabbing pain from the silent accusation...and guilt. Plausible. She knew she'd hid it from him, and it was only a matter of time... Whiz nods thoughtfully. "I can't hook up a human's neural impulses, though. It could be us... and Sidearm says, "If you wish, although it would be best to have someone to monitor the readouts." Rodimus frowns worriedly down at Krystal. "Whatever you can manage, Whiz..." Sidearm looks at Krystal and frowns briefly, then sits down in a chair. She shakes her head, saying in a soft voice, "Go in. How tempting... No, I'll monitor the readouts. Someone has to." @pemit *krys=\[It's okay. He'll get over it. He's only worried about you.] Edward Bryant frowns gently, unable to let his anger build as he glances back at Krystal, he just simply offers, "Be careful." Whiz nods to Sidearm, then begins withdrawing items from the cabinet and assembling them into something that doesn't LOOK like it makes sense, but may actually work. Krystal Bryant bites back a guilty sob, turning her head to face Sky Lynx as she takes a few forced breaths. She finally clears her throat and regards Whiz. "I have to warn you..." she says as a steely tone creeps into her voice. "I've never 'taken' anyone into this with me...it's hard enough alone. And trying to manage in addition to myself, two others, as I did when trying to separate Galvatron from Airwolf...I couldn't hang on to it. I can't guarantee with three any kind of safe conditions...And...this subconscious is VERY powerful....anything could go wrong..." she tightens her jaw as a twinge of fear shows in her face. "And if he resists....if he pulls back, or if he fights...." she looks from Whiz to Rodimus. "Someone could be left, or lost. It's a gamble." Rodimus says quietly, "I can do it, Krystal. You.." he falters slightly, then steels himself. "You know I can." Whiz mounts a scope atop her creation. "Us being here is a gamble. I'm ready to take another one." Sidearm lifts up a scanner and plays with it casually. Whiz grumbles something about obsolete technology and welds in a few linkup cables. Krystal Bryant stares down at Sky Lynx for a long moment, then finally unfastens her cloak and kneels slowly. She never takes her eyes from him, staring intently as they easly begin to glass over, her eyebrows arched only slightly in the far away gaze. "All right, then...." she says evenly. "Rodimus. Whiz. together please, next to each other. And you might want to sit down." Edward Bryant looks up as Krystal says what she has to, and a really deep worry crosses his face, as heheads over to her, and gently takes her arm for a moment. He leans down and mutters to her, his voice filled with worried as he talks. He mutters to Krystal Bryant, "... had your... not... me.... will... me when... are ready.... careful... to... never bear... I... be here,... you get..." With that he lets her go, turning away to hide his own tears. Whiz uhs and gestures toward the scanner. "Edward, Sidearm, this should offer some information on our condition." Whiz quickly hooks up the device to a spot at the base of her neck. "Rodimus?" Edward Bryant keeps his head low, "I fear I am not of much use in here, Whiz. My expertise lies in military, not medical science." Sidearm nods to Whiz. "If there's any problems what do you want me to do to pull you all out?" Krystal Bryant looks back at Sidearm. "No." Whiz says, "This... er, no. Evidently not." Whiz says, "But you can monitor our progress on this monitor." Krystal Bryant says, "We pull out too fast or if the link is severed, the damage could be irreversible. To everyone." Sidearm says, "Right, so basically you want me to stand by helplessly." Whiz shrugs. "I never said this was going to be a picnic." Rodimus smirks. "Isn't that how it always goes?" Edward Bryant remains quiet, trying to keep his focus. Sidearm says, "Fine but I won't enjoy it." Rodimus says quietly, "I don't think I will much, either.." Krystal Bryant sighs quietly. " A last resort, Sidearm. Only. If he overtakes us." Whiz approaches Sky Lynx cautiously and hooks in the monitoring cable, then moves over to Rodimus and holds up the final linkage, looking at him questioningly. Sidearm says, "You want me to pull you out only as a last resort?" Edward Bryant mutters to himself, "At... Sidearm... do something,... helpless... this than..." Rodimus nods silently to Whiz and reaches up to open an access port just below his helmet. Rodimus mutters, "Let's get this show on the road.." Sidearm studies the monitor for a moment in thought. Whiz grinds her jaw and sets the final link, then returns to check the monitor. "All indications are nominal. Sedative should have Sky Lynx under for a good long time. We're as ready as we can be." Rodimus exhales slowly and sits down next to Krystal, optics focused on her in concern. Whiz watches Rodimus, then moves to his side, sits, and tries to empty her mind of extraneous thoughts. Sidearm considers saying something meaningful. "Good luck," is the only thing she can really say. Rodimus smiles wryly. "We'll need it." Edward Bryant swallows back a small sob, "And be careful." Rodimus watches Edward carefully for a moment, then nods gravely and offers a reassuring smile. @pemit *edb=\[Don't worry about us. We'll be fine. All of us.] Krystal Bryant glances over her shoulder slowly, the haze in her eyes enfolding them as instinct tells her to look back to Edward. Whiz quietly shuts down her extraneous functions, preparing to do whatever Krystal requires. Edward Bryant looks back at Krystal, eyes widening gently as he nods back, mouthing the last words he hears in return, "And I you." Krystal Bryant says, "Try to relax as much as you can, it'll make my job of getting us inside a little easier. don't be alarmed, it will be odd. Disorienting. I'll try to lessen the blow."" Rodimus mutters, "This is just downright eerie.. Whiz receives a radio transmission. Whiz slowly looks up with a growl. Whiz transmits a message via radio. Whiz transmits a message via radio to Trailbreaker. Rodimus switches off his radio. Whiz switches off her radio. Whiz settles down again, trying to remember anything she has hever read on meditation. Rodimus touches Whiz's arm and grins gamely. "Just relax." Whiz smirks slightly and nudges Rodimus with an elbow. "I could if you weren't distracting me." Krystal Bryant takes a deep, deep breath, holds it for a long moment, then says quietly, "All right." She lets the breath out slowly as she closes her eyes, reaching out carefully to touch Rodimus mentally, enfolding his subconscious with her own, and securing the hold, nods slowly. "all right, Rod. This part should be slightly familiar to you...Whiz? I think it may be new...." she drifts on her mental channel, keeping Rodimus linked closely, and encases Whiz as well inside her mind's eye. Edward Bryant leans up against the wall, and looks quietly over at Sidearm, "Suggest you settle in, this is going to be a long while." Rodimus exhales softly and lets his optics go dim, trying to focus the bulk of his attention inward. Sidearm glances at Edward and shrugs, going back to the wonderful world of monitoring. Edward Bryant taps his comm, placing a call. Whiz 's face flickers with emotion for a moment, then goes blank and staring. Edward Bryant transmits a message via radio. Krystal Bryant breathes quietly, leading her two companions protectively as she gathers them. With a final pause, she plunges in, dropping their collective consciousness into Sky Lynx's mind. In the real world, Edward Bryant cusses softly, "Sidearm, besides the blast doors, is there any other defenses we have, the guys outside are failing, quickly. We need to secure the ground." In the real world, Sidearm looks at Edward. "Seems there's a few Dinobots rampaging Iacon. We may get company." In the real world, Edward Bryant grins silently, "My thoughts exactly." Rodimus swallows uneasily, shaking his head as he tries to get his bearings. "What.. we're here? ...Krystal?" Sky Lynx sits in the middle of a large blue tube-like structure that is barely big enough to contain him, he looks over with a pained look and offers a smile, his optics brightening, "Welcome ... " Krystal Bryant nods slowly. "Looks like. Hello Sky Lynx." Whiz stares. "What... what happened...?" In the real world, Sidearm transmits a message via radio. In the real world, Edward Bryant says, "There should be an exo in here.. I think. Then again.." In the real world, Edward Bryant unstraps his small .38. "Somehow I doubt this will help." In the real world, Sidearm frowns, thinking fast. "Forcefields, we can put a restraining field around the people...but it may not hold." She shakes her head. "There's also myself as well as you. You don't carry exo-suits in subspace?" Whiz looks around, unsure, and takes a step closer to the other two. Sky Lynx looks over the trio, "Krystal you've never brought anyone in here before, you must be getting stronger with your little talents." In the real world, Sidearm stands up. "We can also barracade the doors and I could make a holo..." In the real world, Sidearm receives a radio transmission from Syke. Krystal Bryant hovers about Whiz's consciousness protectively, then narrows her eyes at Sky Lynx. Sky Lynx twists inside the small containment, "I'm sorry, this hardly the time to be facecious Rodimus offers a cautious smile. "Yeah, well, Krystal's multitalented..." You say, "What's happened to you, Sky Lynx?" In the real world, Sidearm looks at Sky Lynx and everone. She heads to the controls and fiddles with them, hitting the forcefield on full power and then looking at the room. "I'll holo an illusion of no one being here." Krystal Bryant looks mildly confused, but relieved at Sky Lynx's self- reprimand. In the real world, Edward Bryant nods. "Go for it." In the real world, Sidearm's optics brighten. "Barracade the doors while I do this." In the real world, Edward Bryant moves forward, grabbing what he can to shove up against the doors, "Damn, should of brought an exo..." Sky Lynx says, "I don't really know Rodimus .... It's hard to explain ..." Krystal Bryant says, "All right...fair enough. When did you start feeling...different?" In the real world, Sidearm scans the room and then mentally edits a few people out of the general room. She raises her arm and projects an image against the others, attempting to place the illusion in front of them while she concentrates. Sky Lynx tests the walls of his containment, and mutters to himself, "getting smaller." Whiz gains a bit more confidence with the situation and peeks at the enclosing blue containment field. Sky Lynx says, "That's just it Krystal, *I* don't feel any different ... he does. The darkness that you stand in right now is the being responsible for all of this, and sadly enough, he's a vital part of who I am."" In the real world, Edward Bryant slowly pushes one of the smaller tables towards the doors, locking the wheels, and sighs, "There is not much I can do, Sidearm. I will try though." Whiz observes, "The primitive subconscious." Sky Lynx frowns a bit, lowering his vision, "Have you ever said something and then wondered where it came from or how you could ever say such a thing?" Rodimus grimaces, suddenly cold. Krystal Bryant nods slowly. "It's normal. Subconscious motivations." In the real world, Sidearm receives a radio transmission. In the real world, Sidearm transmits a message via radio to Syke. Whiz says, still uneasy, "Sky Lynx, each of us has that part of ourselves. I'm sure mine is larger than most. However, yours shouldn't be so overwhelming. You shouldn't have to protect yourself from your own motivations. We need to find out how to help you fight back." Rodimus murmurs, "before it's too late..." In the real world, Sidearm heads over to a medical table and slides it over against the doors. "There's little anyone can do against a Dinobot. Don't feel so bad. Right now, I'm just glad we didn't go with them." She heads to another table and gives it a similar fate, pressing it against the table. Whiz nods somberly. "Before we all die." Sky Lynx says, "Well that's what it's like ... it's like I'm walking around and saying and doing things that would never dream of doing or saying .... I have no control over it .... I keep shouting at myself telling me to stop but it doesn't listen, I can't fight, and I'm tting weaker ...." Krystal Bryant nods gravely, looking back at Sky Lynx. In the real world, Sidearm looks at Edward. "Hopefully long enough. I haven't been draining myself too much but if a fight begins I may lose enough power." In the real world, Edward Bryant nods. "If it comes down to it then..." He swallows, looking back at the holo'd area. "We are the last line of defense. Probably be a short last stand. Especially for me." Whiz presses, "How, Sky Lynx? How did it grow so powerful?" Sky Lynx runs a paw along the side of the containment, "only two days ago this cage was twice as big as it is now ... it shoved me into this ... intangible condition and it's try to crush any semblence of who I am out of existence ... In the real world, Sidearm looks at the image. "That should hold, background images of that size are a lot easier than the complicated people images I've seen many people do. I can't do those, I usually use this for weapons and fortifications. Not impersonations. I can't do impersonations or I'd pretend to be Sky Lynx or something." Rodimus wanders away from the group cautiously, approaching Sky Lynx, his face echoing his apprehension but trying to fight it down. In the real world, Edward Bryant smiles. "Not asking you to, what you have now is fine." Krystal Bryant narrows her eyes, keeping a cautious vigil over Whiz and Rod. In the real world, Sidearm nods. "Get some cover, the surviving Dinobots may end up overwelming me." Sky Lynx says, "Whiz I don't know, and if I could stop it I would, but every time I attack it, it retailiates 100 fold, crushing everything that I am .... the more agressive I fight it ... the more aggressively it tries to put an end to me .." In the real world, Edward Bryant frowns, taking a position behind a wall, and checking his chambered rounds. In the real world, Sidearm ponders something, she walks off to the supply room and grabs a large slab of metal. She then drags it slowly towards the doors, grunting as she does so. Krystal Bryant growls. "Well, that's what we're here for, my friend. To fight back." Sky Lynx says, "watch" Whiz says, "Metaphysics is not my arena of expertise." Sky Lynx draws back and whacks the containment with a resounding *KABWAM!*, the containment shrinks noticibly. Krystal Bryant blinks. "Sky Lynx!" In the real world, Sidearm transmits a message via radio. In the real world, Sidearm receives a radio transmission from Syke. Sky Lynx says, "it wasn't a physical blow, it was a psychological one, it retaliated ..." Krystal Bryant hmmms. "Keep talking, you two. I'm going to poke around, Sky Lynx." Whiz hmmms. "Psychological... translating aggression into a weapon, but aggressio is of the primitive side's domain..." Rodimus frowns and shakes his head at the psych-babble and reaches up hesitantly with one hand, holding it a few inches away from the barrier. He looks up uneasily at Sky Lynx, then lowers it again. In the real world, Sidearm slides the slab of metal into place and then heads off to grab a welder. She returns to the large panel and starts welding it into the exit. "Focus your shots on optics, it's the weakest spot on a dinobot," she says softly, running the welder over the cracks slowly. Sky Lynx says, "Whiz I don't understand this anymore than you do. I don't want to be this way, I've done everything I could thing of to fight this thing ... I don;t know where it's strength came from and I don;t know why I can't control it .... I'm not a medic or a technician, I'm a warrior, a commander, a strategist .... and I've lost control of my own body ... and hurt the people who mean the most to me ...." Sky Lynx lies down looking distressed. In the real world, Sidearm grips the slab of metal and then continues running the welder over it. She frowns sadly, compensating for the banging. Whiz's optics glitter icily. Krystal Bryant blinks, a shift outside jolting her. Krystal Bryant says, "Oh my God...we we're running out of time." Sky Lynx says, "I do know some things ... I can specalate ..." In the real world, Edward Bryant hears the reports, and increasing noise of battle, "That was the first set of doors." Whiz shakes her head slightly. "Look, hatred and anger only make a shell thicker and stronger. Aggression isn't the answer. Rodimus turns back to look at Whiz. "What, then?" Krystal Bryant nods, stepping in. "She's right, Sky Lynx! Aggression isn't your game. It never has been! You are the chief of reason and speculation. You do it all the time!" Whiz spreads her hands helplessly. "Well, for me, forgiveness did wonders." In the real world, Sidearm says, "I'm aware of that..." Sky Lynx says, "Right after getting my body back I began having disturbing visions in my dreams ... they were sporatic at first and then they started happening all the time when I rested ... it got to the point where I rested less and less ... they were visions of Quintessons ....." Krystal Bryant nods...then stops cold. "After....after you got your body...back?" In the real world, Edward Bryant hehs, pointing his pistol at the doors, "As ready as I'll ever be..." Whiz looks down. "I suspected as much." Sky Lynx says, "The whole organic ordeal .. you remember?" Rodimus scowls. "We were right, then." Krystal Bryant's face draws. "Your body...was on...Quintessa...." Sky Lynx says, "Listen, I don't have a whole lot of time left and from the sound of things niether do you, I know that the primal self is driven to infect. He resonates it through his words and the more he infects with his hatred, the more he wants to infect. He is as much a part of me as any part of my body, but I cannot control him, and he's the source of all of this ... a sort of beacon, the focal point of all this madness ...." Krystal Bryant glances oddly at Rodimus. Whiz murmurs, "A beacon in the voice... some kind of resonance..." Sky Lynx says, "I believe if you destroy it, the others will fall in line ...." Krystal Bryant tightens her jaw. "Then we must fight it somehow." she studies around closely, poking through the darkness. Whiz says, "Harmonic resonance that triggers the same abnormality in others... that breaks down their balance between the primal and the normal..." In the real world, Sidearm glances over her shoulder at the image and then turns back to the doors. Rodimus says quietly, "But how? If fighting it only makes it stronger, how do we counter it?" Sky Lynx stammers slightly, "I can't hurt my friends anymore ... I cannot be the cause for the destruction of my world .... I ask ...that you take proper actions and destroy the source of this hatred .... I ask that you terminate my body ... I can't live like this any longer. Whiz reports, "As interesting as this metaphysical journey may be, there is a physical malfunction as well. The concern is preserving what is left of the original Sky Lynx until we can find a remedy." Rodimus frowns. "Not as long as there's a chance we can reverse the damage." Sky Lynx says, "Rodimus .. too many have suffered already ... this isn't me, I mean what's to say if you reverse it that it won't take over some time down the line, when I won;t be in a position to be stopped .." Whiz says, "This is not of your making, Sky Lynx. You do not deserve to sufer for it." Sky Lynx says, "and neither do you ..." Whiz says unevenly, "My suffering... was of my making as well." You say, "We've already suffered enough, Sky Lynx. It's a moot point. We're going to prevent it this time." Sky Lynx says, "Look at you Whiz, even in this place I can feel your pain, pain that I am responsible for ... at least in part." Rodimus mutters to Whiz, "Take it... think emotion... more... here." You whisper "Take it easy.. I think emotion is more malleable here." to Whiz. In the real world, Edward Bryant hears the fire die down for a moment, "A lull.. or are the defenders or attackers wiped out?" Sky Lynx looks evenly at Rodimus, "where is the Matrix Rodmius?" Rodimus swallows hard. "In the... in the body of my past self." Sky Lynx says, "Why don't you have it now?" Rodimus tightens his jaw. "It was.. taken from me." Sky Lynx's voice cracks slightly, "by whom?" Whiz ers. "That's really not important right now. It would probably play havoc with this... wherever we are... anyway." In the real world, Edward Bryant nods. "Conserve your energy." In the real world, Edward Bryant leans against the table, setting his pistol down and watching the monitor. In the real world, Sidearm focuses on the entrance. "Right, if we're lucky this mess was for nothing." Rodimus draws a ragged breath, tossing a grateful look at Whiz. "Right... I'm not the one in danger here.." Sky Lynx sighs and shifts uncomfortably, "I can't believe I really went that far ... " Rodimus says firmly, "We won't let it go that far this time, Sky Lynx. We're going to help you." Whiz says, "Sky Lynx, if you keep turning your anger on yourself because of what this primitive self is doing, you are constrictng yourself more. You ahve to believe that you will make it, or we will lose you." In the real world, Edward Bryant says, "I hope so. Let's hope they held." Sky Lynx says, "I believe you Whiz ... if you even remember the real me you know how much this is tearing at me ... I always knew what i was capable of ... I just never thought things would go this far .." Rodimus reaches up again almost unconsciously, pulling his hand back from the barrier at the last moment. "They won't..." Whiz says hoarsely, "They can't." In the real world, A loud blast then a rumble, the second set of doors shaking slightly. In the real world, Sidearm frowns. "Then again..." In the real world, Edward Bryant picks up his pistol, "Looks like this is it. Sky Lynx says, "What do you need from me?" In the real world, Sidearm says, "Maybe. I was hoping I would go down fighting Decepticons, though. They're much easier to deal with at times." Whiz shrugs. "We need you to hang on. When we drive back this darkness, we need you to be here to take over." In the real world, Edward Bryant smirks slightly, "I would perfer Earth.." Glancing at Krystal's form, "Actually, I'd rather we not die at all..." He adds with grim determination. In the real world, Sidearm says, "Trypticon?" Sky Lynx says, "I .. will try, but fighting does nothing but wosen my situation." You say, "Maybe we should just leave you unconscious?" Krystal says, "That's the key, Sky Lynx. You can't fight against it, because they you feed into the darkness and the anger. You have to believe in hope and forgivness, and believe that we can help you." In the real world, Sidearm hmms. "Death comes to everyone. I think we mourn other's passings because they're never to be seen again in this world. It's easier to handle a loss if the person just disappears. At least then there's hope that the person is still alive." In the real world, Sidearm says, "Therefore, they may return again one day. True death is so ...final." Sky Lynx says, "I will do whatever it takes to stop this madness ... but know that if my destruction is seen as the only way to stop this ... do not hesitate ... if you hesitate, you will loose .." Sky Lynx says, "Go ... quickly, they're coming ..." Krystal feels the bad vibes from the real world. "We are running out of time. I'm going to have to return us, back to our true bodies outside. This will take concentration..." Rodimus looks up sadly at Sky Lynx. "I'll get you out of this," he promises softly. "I've killed too many friends already." Sky Lynx says, "Thank you my friends ... I hope this won't be our final meeting ..." Rodimus says quietly, "It won't." Whiz looks at Sky Lynx in sympathy as the image of the area begins to fade. Rodimus grips Whiz's shoulder to maintain some tenuous link, cautiously releasing his mental hold on Sky Lynx's essence. The image fades as Krystal's essence protectively guides her friends out of Sky Lynx's subconscious. Iacon MedCenter Repair Room Contents: Whiz, Edward Bryant, Sidearm, Krystal Bryant, Sky Lynx The back of the room is empty and the following people are hidden behind a hologram: Sky Lynx, Krystal, Whiz, and Rodimus. Other than that, everyone else is around. Please also ignore the monitor. Page Sidearm, who's generating the hologram, for questions. Krystal's face takes on animation first as her eyes regain focus and gaze around the room, resting first on her friends to see if they have recovered. Rodimus jerks startledly back into the real world, looking wildly around the room for several moments until he places his bearings. Sidearm looks over her shoulders, a little relieved. "Welcome back to the land of moving parts." Whiz nearly falls over suddenly, as if she has been hit in the chest. She gasps as she gains her balance. Rodimus rubs the back of his head, sliding his hand down and tugging out the interface cable with a slightly stiff twist of his neck. Sidearm says, "I'll catch you all up now. Trypticon is awake and moving around. Also, we have dinobots rampaging. They make break in here." Rodimus asks concernedly, "You all right, Whiz?" Whiz braces one hand on the ground and nods dumbly. Sidearm runs a scanner over the pair, knowing nothing about organics. "How are you two?" Rodimus pats Whiz awkwardly on the back, then lurches forward, stumbling to his feet. Whiz reaches behind her neck and plucks the cable from the base of her head, then shakes herself out a bit and rises to her feet as well. "I think I have some new ideas about what must be done." Sidearm says, "That's good, what can I do for the two of you?" Rodimus says quietly, "I think we're all right, Sidearm, just.." he blinks a bit owlishly at the floor, "a little disoriented.." Whiz shakes her head slightly. "That would be an accurate description." Sidearm looks down at Krystal. "Do you need anything at all?" Rodimus looks across at the door. "The pounding's stopped..?" Krystal Bryant grunts softly into the palms of her hands as the press against her forehead. She swallows and looks up blearily. "Um, no. I'll be all right in a while." she arches an eyebrow at Rodimus. "Stopped?" Sidearm nods. "Yes, the walls held. I added a few things to reinforce the entrance just in case." Sidearm says, "The dinobots seem to be trying to break in." Rodimus smiles down at Krystal wryly. "The pounding on the doors, not the pounding in my head." Whiz chuckles slightly. Sidearm transmits a message via radio. Rodimus eyes the barricade. "So I see..." Krystal Bryant snorts. "Oh, ha ha. I was going to say that wasn't fair..." she smirks, pressing her fingers in circular motions about her temples. Sidearm says, "I was also going to cover you all in a hologram to keep you safe for at least a little longer." Sidearm says, "I could still cover Sky Lynx if they happen to break in." Rodimus nods. "I'm debating going out there to help, or whether it's worth it to pull down the blockade..." Whiz turns on her radio. Whiz says, "We could get an update from the other side." Sidearm says, "Depends, really. I could always seal the doors after we exit. At least then this room won't be trashed any more in the process." Rodimus blinks dumbly and clicks on his radio as an afterthought. Rodimus turns on his radio. Whiz speaks up. "The Decepticons are pulling back to regroup at their headquarters." Sidearm says, "Trypticon giving them a rough time?" Rodimus blinks. "Whoa, wait, I missed this in the review. Trypticon?" Krystal Bryant blinks numbly. Sidearm says, "I said it earlier when you first awoke. Breakdown has been giving broadband transmissions that Trypticon seems to be awake and running around. He was last reported in the Warrens. He could cause trouble, I'm uncertain how bad this is." Krystal Bryant suddenly realizes the impact of the information. "Oh, my....*Trypticon*...." Sidearm says, "I assume since the Decepticons are retreating that it is very bad, at least for them." Krystal Bryant swallows, feeling her fear rise. "What do we do now?" Whiz says grimly, "We find a cure." Rodimus goes completely silent for several moments, running through the implications in his head. "We find a cure," he says decisively. Krystal Bryant blinks and looks in alarm at Whiz and Rodimus, a wry grin forcing itself upon her mouth. "Okay...." Sidearm says, "Inspiring words." Knightmare comes in from the Waiting Room. Knightmare walks in, sighing. Whiz receives a radio transmission from Warhammer. Whiz ahems. "Warhammer requests that we lower the barricades. Perhaps the Dinobots have departed." Whiz receives a radio transmission. Knightmare waits on the other side of the barriar. "They're gone." Sidearm says, "It sounds fine to me...." Sidearm heads to the tables and begins returning them to their proper place. "They'll just return eventually, I'm sure." Syke comes in from the Waiting Room. Whiz says, "It may have been intended as a distraction while they attacked and captured Trypticon." Rodimus sighs. "As long as we have Sky Lynx here, we're a target." Syke stumbles in... Syke says, "They're gone." Rodimus mutters, "Of course, we're a target anyway. Warhammer runs in Warhammer says, "People, we got some MAJOR Problems" Knightmare calls from the other side of the door. "Can you drop the field so can enter?' Sidearm grumbles, cleaning the mess. Syke slumps onto a table. "Fix me, Sludge slammed into me with his head." Warhammer says, "First Ramhorn needs to be killed" Warhammer says, "I promised him" Warhammer says, "Second ....." Syke says, "At least I apparently convinced Grimlock that Lynx wasn't here..." Syke says, "For now..." Warhammer says, "They got Trypticon." Sidearm says, "Ramhorn? Was he infected?" Warhammer says, "He is now." Warhammer says, "Or he will be." Whiz says, "Hey, could you guys speak one at a time?" Syke says, "Ramhorn was exposed, Grimlock hauled hm off" Warhammer nods. Knightmare walks in, the barrier finally gone. Whiz is looking a bit disoriented alredy, and all the shouting isn't helping. Sidearm lifts a table up that she was using for cover. Warhammer says, "Ok ... let me condense it" Warhammer says, "Ramhorn was exposed and Grimlock dragged him off" Warhammer says, "At the same time they tried to get Sky Lynx .... they got Typticon" Warhammer says, "At the same time they tried to get Sky Lynx .... they got Trypticon" Transmission from Eyespy: are the infected bots still in the Iacon base? Sidearm says, "We lost Ramhorn?" Syke nods. Warhammer says, "Yes, and they got Tryppy." Sidearm frowns. Syke sighs. "Crud..." Warhammer says, "Tryp was exposed." Warhammer says, "and he is fully operational." Warhammer says, "I believe. He may not have a cog, but he is awake." You transmit a message to Eyespy: No, I think they left. Sidearm scans Syke over. "You're hardly what I would call in any real damage. I can repair you shortly, you just need a little work." Syke says, "I blew it, I didn't do enough." Whiz says, "That is indeed unfortunate, but we will need to protect that cog at all costs." Warhammer says, "Um ..." Warhammer says, "Pak said Sidestep can make a cog" Warhammer says, "and he is infected too" Whiz says simply, "Then I will have to hurry. Excuse me." Sidearm says, "Any medic should be able to." Warhammer says, "So ... um ... Yes" Syke says, "While I was convincing Grimlock that I was a prim on a spy mission, saying Lynx was gone and wanted him back at the warrens, to get rid of them, they got Tryp."" Warhammer says, "I am going to go after Ramhorn soon." Warhammer turns and leaves the room. Whiz turns to a console on the wall and starts scrolling through readings taken a few moments eariler. Rodimus shrugs and tilts his head toward Whiz in a "I hope you know what you're doing" gesture. Syke says, "We still have Lynx, though, so we can find the cure." Sidearm says, "Don't kill him, we may find a cure." Warhammer says, "No Sidearm" Warhammer turns to SA Warhammer says, "I made a promice" Knightmare mutters just audible, "Plus, they trashed the Monitor Room." Syke says, "At least I convinced him Lynx wasn't here, enough to leave. We should seal Iacon." Warhammer says, "If he got exposed, then I would kill him ... he is exposed and now I MUST follow up on my promice" Sidearm says, "Hold back on it. Wait. if we can not find a cure eventually, then do what you must but until then we may be able to save them all." Whiz says, "The Ramhorn that was your friend is still in him. And he will be released, but not if you run off and kill him before we have a chance to do so."" Warhammer says, "I made a promice" Rodimus says firmly, "No one's killing anyone." Warhammer says, "When everybody else would not do so I told him I would" Whiz says, "We now know that for sure. Don't trun your back on him." Warhammer says, "And I am going to follow up on my promise" Sidearm says, "You're not breaking the promise by delaying it." Warhammer says, "He wanted me to kill him as soon as he got infected" You say, "I've already killed enough people, friends, and it doesn't get you anywhere." Warhammer says, "I may end up in the pits of Charr, but I have to do this for him ..." Knightmare says, "Warhammer, it takes about two to three weeks to make a noticeable effect. If he just got infected, you have time to find a cure." Warhammer says, "Then you have time to find a cure" Warhammer says, "I will not leave for about a week or so" Sidearm says, "Fine, until then only fight back if you are attacked." Warhammer nods, shakily. Warhammer is shaking alot. Whiz sighs slightly and examines her readings, doing an intensive scan of Sky Lynx's unconscious head. Eyespy comes in from the Waiting Room. Warhammer sits down and steadies himself. Warhammer says, "Why am I shaking so much all of a sudden?" Whiz activates a containment field to envelop Sky Lynx. Sidearm turns back to Syke and gathers a few of her tools. Warhammer talks to himself. You say, "Agreed. I refuse to start another slaughter. We fight them only in self-defense." Eyespy flies in and perches on the med cabinet Knightmare folds his arms over his chest and sits back over an unused table. "Speaking of cures, what about the data we had on the virus already? Is is still secure?" You say, "It is. They didn't penetrate this far." Sidearm says, "Is it a virus?" Whiz says, "Sidearm defended us while we were.. incapacitated." Knightmare nods. "Well, I said it many times, but I still have the orginal on Legend. If you can find Megabyte (which no one seems to know where he is), he made copies of all the other data two days before Sidesteps trashed the place." Whiz explains, "It functions like a virus, but our conversation has pointed me in a somewhat different direction." Sidearm says, "I sat around with Edward and chatted while waiting for the doors to fall." Warhammer grabs one wrist with his other hand and stops them both from shaking. He leaves the room slowly. Eyespy transmits a message via radio to Ramhorn. Sidearm removes Syke's damaged armor and starts banging the dents out with a mallot. Sidearm begins work on Syke's superficial damage, bringing her back up to full strength. Whiz says, "Evidently it incapacitates whatever regulates the interaction of the primal instict-driven neural functions and the more rational self. And it is transmitted somehow through a modulation of the vocal timbre... something communicates the code that causes the breakdown." Syke says, "Should I transform? Most of the damage is in raptor mode." Knightmare sits up. "Hmmm. It's not a virus. Then what is it? Oh, don't worry. I hve a nominal knowledge on the subeject of computer logisitics. I will at least understand." Rodimus eyes Whiz. "And that leads to the conclusion that...?" Whiz says, "So in that way, it is like a virus. It invades and restructures mental operation. However, it is not communicated through code. It is more like a cross between a virus and, even, hypnosis." Sidearm WAM WAM WAMs it into place, straitening panels out. "It's not needed, I helped to repair a lot of that raptor mode. I'm very familiar with it. Transforming may cause more unnecessary stress." Eyespy receives a radio transmission. Syke nods. Knightmare nods. "Hmm. Which means it can be lable a 'virus' for semantics sake." Whiz says, "If it aids in understanding the condition." Eyespy says, "if it is produced through modulation of vocals as you say would it be possible to retofit the remailing animal alts with a kind of filter?" Sidearm says, "It's a sickness of some kind." Knightmare says, "I had assumed that it was the reason why it afffects 'beast-alt froms' most. They have instinct and heightened senses. So naturally, they would be more apt to pick up on it. And, therefore, be affected." Sidearm says, "Syke has a helmet that protects her now." Whiz says, "That is quite possible. i know that Pak-Gor has already investigated that... as Sidearm has said." Eyespy says, "what about the rest of the alts?" Syke says, "Yes, but the helmet is still iffy, if it got broken or stuff, if an internalized filter could be designed it might be more safe..." Whiz says, "Plus, when the instinct rises up to overwhelm the ordinary personality, only the animal alt-forms have that kind of strong animal instinct." Sidearm nods, looking Syke over. She slowly welds the repaired panels into place. "Shame we couldn't give Ramhorn a helmet in time..." she thinks out loud. Knightmare hmmms. "I'm not an expect on this, but theoritically, we could all be carries. That may not be the case, but that's apossiblity." Whiz says, "I don't believe so. The progression of the illness has not borne out that hypothesis." Syke says, "If everyone were a carrier, I would have been infected long ago." You say, "Carriers? Of propaganda?" Whiz says, "However, that gives me an idea." Eyespy says, "Would it be possible to dampen or cut out the 'alts instincts?" He is obviously not happy with the suggestion. Whiz says, "Somehow, the modification of the regulatory neural network also triggers the change in the vocal emissions. If we can track where *that* change begins, we might be able to find the true root of the problem." Syke sighs. "Thanks for the fix, Sidearm." Knightmare says, "Still, the point is, it seems to affect higher, well- trained senses. Since that is what it capitalozes on, it would easily spread and copy from one who picked it up to someone else who is more sensitive." Transmission from Ramhorn: RODIMUS!! I ain't used ta this, but HELP!!!! Slaggin' Grimlock dragged me off ta the stinkin' lair!! Rodimus blinks. "Ramhorn's radioing for help..?" Sidearm puts her tools away and sits down in her favorite chair. "I expected more injured." Syke looks to Rod. "How long does the virus take to manifest itself? Maybe it just hasn't overwhelmed him yet." You say, "It depends on the individual.." Whiz says, "It hasn't, but he is afraid that it will." Knightmare concentrates. He asks Whiz, "Is it possible it could work through the entire gambit of sound waves? From ultra-sonics to sub sonics? If so, it could affect the audio recepters with control balance, and therefore, control the rest of the body." Eyespy looks depressed. "I fell so helpless, my freinds in trouble and i cant do anything but just sit here Syke says, "And his fears are justified." Whiz says, "Indeed."
